About Us

Welcome to Boxmoor Osteopathy and Therapy Centre

Brian

Osteopath

When I, Brian came into osteopathy it was as the result of suffering with low back pain for nearly one year with no relief. The difference that osteopathic treatment made to my life was such that I decided I must learn this skill to help others in the same situation.

I trained for four years at the British School of Osteopathy in London qualifying in 1990. Since that day I have worked to help my patients, over 7000 to date, deal with their pains and aches. If we cannot help a patient we will always refer them back to their Doctor or to the most appropriate therapist whom we believe may be able to help them.

Shirley

Massage Therapist

I, Shirley have been obsessed with massage from about the age of 14. I would sit on the top of the sofa and massage my dad's shoulders and neck. Having worked with the Inland Revenue for plenty of years, realising office work was not for me, I went to college part-time whilst working to train and qualify as a therapist. I have taken courses and workshops in several styles to enable me to treat each client as an individual without having to follow a 'format' or 'routine'. I have been working in this field since 1991 and love every minute of it. I also offer foot (I love feet!) and hand reflexology to those who do not or cannot benefit from massage. I teach fitness and dance, both of which were (and still are) my hobbies before I decided to teach them.

I offer Pilates and also Yoga. I have practiced Yoga on and off over the years. After a health problem 5 years ago I spent 3 months meditating and felt lead to train as a yoga teacher. I now teach yoga to both adults and teenagers. This is something I feel very passionate about to help people be happy in their own skin both internally and externally.
